- Melt together the butter, treacle and milk.
- Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Divide the mixture into 2 loaf tins and cook at 160 degrees for about 40-45 minutes. Alternatively, place the mixture in one large tin and leave to cook for longer
- Serve spread with butter and a slice of cheddar cheese.
Fruit Cake
- 12 oz self raising flour
- 4 ozs butter
- 1lb mixed fruit
- 1 lb sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- ½ pint of milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp of treacle
- 2 oz chopped mixed nuts
